Well Mama: Pregnancy & Postpartum Tea

from $12.00

A thoughtfully-blended herbal tea, traditionally enjoyed by women throughout pregnancy and postpartum. This mineral-rich blend is full of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, and copper that help to nourish both mama and baby.

It also provides gentle uterine support, without stimulation, which can help prepare the body for labor, as well as support recovery after birth.

Ingredients: Nettles, Oatstraw, Red Raspberry Leaf, Mint, Rosehip

This tea is best prepared as a strong infusion.**

Directions for Use:**I like to make this tea as a strong infusion, steeping it anywhere from 4-8 hours (covered). I often place about 1/3 cup in a quart mason jar or French press, fill it up with hot water before going to bed, cover it, and then strain and enjoy it iced in the morning!

A Note on Herbal Teas: Hot water is used as the method to extract the medicinal constituents from herbs, which is actually one of the most effective ways to extract the most health-boosting properties from certain herbs -- especially the mineral-rich nettle + oat straw in this blend!

FOR EXAMPLE: Studies show that you can get 40 to 80 mg of calcium from a regular cup of nettle tea OR 500 mg of calcium from a strong/long infusion of nettle tea (4-8 hours).

Sizes available:

20 grams (8-10 cups of tea)

60 grams (24-28 cups of tea)

All ingredients are sustainably grown in my garden, foraged or sourced.

This nutritive and beneficial tea is made with:

Nettles: one of my FAVORITE nutritive herbs for tea and food, nettles is full of iron, potassium, magnesium and copper. It can help balance electrolytes, keep anemia at bay, and aid in the absorption assimilation of other micronutrients. It also helps to nourish the blood with Vitamins A, C, K + B.

Oatstraw: loaded with iron, magnesium, and calcium as well as Vitamin D and E. It is often used to nourish the nervous system, it adds a rich and nutty flavor to the tea, and is very moistening which helps to offset the dryness of the nettles.

Red Raspberry Leaf: Red Raspberry Leaf is touted traditionally by herbalists and midwives to have many uterine benefits for pregnant and soon-to-be postpartum moms. It is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants + it strengthens the uterus and is both anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial.

Rosehips: one of nature's richest sources of Vitamin C and antioxidants, rosehips add a nice flavor to the tea and help boost your immune system keeping you healthy during pregnancy and postpartum.

Mint: As a gentle and tasty digestive, mint can work great at easing digestion, nausea, heartburn & bloating.

I drank a version of this throughout my pregnancy, postpartum, and even now because it makes me feel so good and helps me fill some nutritional gaps in my diet.
